Coffee Panna cotta

Panna cotta is an Italian desert that's made basically with milk and cream. Its USP is its simplicity. And you can be creative too....like instead of coffee just add chocolate or strawberries or simply some vanilla.

It is very easy to make and sets really fast. So on days when you have guests dropping in at short notice this is the dessert to impress them.

Ingredients:

1 cup           Condensed milk
1 1/2 cup     Milk
1 cup           Cream
3 to 4 tsp     Sugar
1 1/2 tsp      Instant Coffee Powder
1 envelope  Gelatine

Method:

Soak the gelatine in warm water and keep aside for 10 mins to bloom.
In a heavy bottomed pan heat the milk, condensed milk, sugar and cream. When just about boiling  add the coffee powder and the gelatine. Stir till the coffee dissolves. Remove from heat.

When slightly cooled strain the liquid into a mold. Set aside to cool and keep in the fridge to set. This will take about an hour.

Remove when fully set. To demold, warm water in a big pan. Dip the panna cotta mold in the warm water for 1 min and then demold on a plate.

Garnish and decorate with a little sprinkle of coffee. You could use Coffee Liquor if you like.
