Strawberry Rose / Strawberry Cream Trifle

"Strawberry Rose"....very spontaneously,I gave this name to this very simple, and delicious dessert , I made , with fresh strawberries and cream! I looked at the finished layered dessert, garnished with strawberry and jam , served in a stem glass. And it looked exactly like a rose!

I always had a weakness for the eternal "Strawberry with cream"..the one served at Mahabaleshwar..A hill station near Mumbai! Mahabaleshwar, is also famous for its very many strawberry farms, and Mapro- known for its squashes and jams!

So heres an added twist to my favourite fruit dessert!

Ingredients:

1 Cup Whipping Cream
1/2 Cup Sugar,powdered
1 Cup Fresh Strawberries,diced
1/4 Cup strawberry puree , mixed with sugar and 2tbsp water
1 Tin Strawberry Pie Filling or topping ( I used Mothers Maid, available at local stores)
or use strawberry crush and Jam.
1 Slice of Plain Vanilla Sponge Cake.
(If you want to make it at home , use the links below , for eggless and with egg versions)

Add sugar to the whipping cream and using an electric beater, beat till soft peaks form.
Refrigerate till further use.

If you do not have whipping cream, you can use regular amul fresh cream , and whip it using the technique i used in the recipe link below

In a stem glass, place a small slice of sponge cake and drizzle some strawberry puree and water mixture to moisten the cake.
Add some chopped strawberries over it and top it with whipped cream. Drizzle some strawberry crush over it or best is to use the canned strawberry filling.
Again add strawberries and top with a final dollop of cream.
Put some strawberry jam or crush or plain strawberry filling in a plastic bag and cut of the corner tip and pipe the mixture over the cream in circles and place a strawberry at the center.
The decoration will make it seem like a rose.
Make as many as you want and refrigerate. Serve cold.
