Three Minute Malai Burfee

"Phoolon ka taroon ka sab ka kehna hai
Ek hazaaron main meri behna hai"

That's the song that comes to your mind when you think of Raksha Bandhan and that is the power of Hindi movies!!!

The Raksha Bandhan festival is celebrated to commemorate the everlasting bond between brothers and sisters. It is marked by a simple ceremony, in which a woman ties a Rakhi on her brother's wrist.
It falls on a Poornima in the month of Shravan.

Be it any festival, sweets are a must......and we end up buying ready made sweets rather than making them at home. Reasons....... too tiring and time comsuming. So here is a burfee which is so easy to make that it can be made in 3 to 4 mins flat and with the ingredients which are readily available at home. Sounds too good to be true na?  All you need is the microwave oven.

Ingredients:

1 cup        Milk Powder
1/2 cup     Malai
1/2 cup    Sugar
1/2 tsp     Elaichi powder
10 to 12  Almonds
1/2 cup    Paneer

Method:

Blanch the almonds in hot water and slice them into slivers

In a microwave proof bowl mix the milk powder, malai, sugar and the elaichi powder. Microwave for 30 sec and mix. Microwave again for 20 sec and mix. Now add the grated paneer and mix. Keep repeating this for about 3 mins. It can take less also depending upon the capacity of your microwave. When the mixture turns grainy its done.

Remove and cool a little.

Grease a plate with a little ghee. Pour the mixture and flatten it. Garnish with almond slivers and cut into squares.

You can use pista or cashews also.
